| My blog's URL as a QR Code |
Qr Codes (Quick Response Codes) are 2d barcodes first designed for a car company in Japan. After that, it became a way of advertisement. You see them everywhere these days. They link directly to articles, emails, websites, phone numbers, videos, social media pages and more. All you need is a camera lens on your device and a QR code scanning program's which can be downloaded online for free as an app. They can also be used for mobile operating systems, shortening URLs, opening and shopping from virtual stores, payments, logins and encryption.
Lets ask the first question we always ask on this blog is: How can teachers use it?
Well, actually it works on the same principle Aurasma does. You scan something, bam! It's on your screen. Qr codes can store approximately 4000 characters of information (and the frame is just getting bigger and bigger) so you don't have to print and hand out tons of papers. Just make children scan the barcode.
They are easy to generate. Simple clicks and a copy paste. You can also store an answer sheet or solutions to problems in them. There are a lot of example activities can be seen here
A little favor, use websites like
- Kaywa.com QR code generator
- QRStuff (create a color QR code)
- GoQR.com
- SnapVu (includes URL shortener and scan tracker)
- Bulk QR Code Maker
- QR Code Scanner
- SnippQR
- Scanova QR code generator
- Delivr (can change the URL to where a QR code leads)
