Digital Storytelling

Digital storytelling is the practice of combining narrative with digital content, including images, sound, and video, to create a short movie, typically with a strong emotional component. Basically it’s the revamped version of the art of storytelling as Dr. Helen Barrett says.
It may include images, words, sounds, hyperlinks and animations, so what we can do has no border.

Dual Coding Theory

Dual Coding Theory refers to dual channels to processing and storing visual and verbal info. (Clark&Paivio,1991) Text is processed and encoded in verbal systems but pictures are processed by both visual and verbal systems. Pictures may be remembered better than texts because they are coded twice.

So in other words, we should not combine everything, and by everything subtitles, sounds and animations. It would be too heavy for brain.
